Veggie Taxi started with the desire to help the local food system run a little smoother. Lou, an entrepreneur and current CAFF Farm School student, saw a disconnect in the local food system when he subscribed to a CSA but found it difficult to make it to the scheduled pickup each week. Lou imagined it would be worth it to pay a delivery service, similar to other food delivery services, to bring his weekly CSA bag to his house, but none existed.
That desire for a convenient way to have his weekly farm subscription delivered straight to his door on weeks when it was impossible to go in person was the idea that launched Veggie Taxi.
Today, Veggie Taxi has partnered with six local farms in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to offer CSA subscribers a convenient home delivery option for those times when in-person pickup just isn’t practical. This way farms in Fayetteville are able to still provide their fresh products directly to their subscribers without inconveniencing the farmer or the subscriber. With Veggie Taxi, everybody wins.
