Veggie Taxi started with the desire to help the local food system run a little smoother. Lou, an entrepreneur and current CAFF Farm School student, wanted to help the local food system meet the needs of the Washington County, Arkansas, residents struggling with food insecurity.
In Washington County alone, over 43,000 people struggle with food insecurity. Veggie Taxi was created to help farmers and consumers connect in a mutually beneficial way.
Veggie Taxi is a mobile market bringing fresh produce straight from farmers to the areas of Washington County that do not have a local grocery store. We are conveniently connecting isolated communities with farm fresh fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices. We are increasing food access and working to end food insecurity for as many Washington County residents as we can.
